Christopher Breen
Christopher Breen has been writing about Apple and technology since the latter days of the Reagan Administration for such publications as MacUser, MacWEEK, and Macworld. Breen, a senior editor for Macworld, currently pens Macworld’s popular tips and troubleshooting column, Mac 911 and hosts the Macworld Podcast. He’s the author of many books including The iPhone Pocket Guide and The iPod Touch Pocket Guide (Peachpit Press) and has produced a number of video training titles for Lynda.com. When not engaged in journalistic endeavors he works as a musician in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Jeff Carlson
Jeff Carlson is a best-selling author of numerous books about the Macintosh, the iPad, digital photography, video editing, and design, for both Peachpit Press and Take Control Books. He’s also a senior editor of TidBITS, a frequent contributor to Macworld Magazine, a columnist for the Seattle Times, and an all-around late-nighter who drinks almost too much coffee. Almost. Bryan Chaffin
Bryan Chaffin is the cofounder and copublisher of The Mac Observer, which launched in December of 1998. With past hats ranging from Web designer, to columnist, to editor-in-chief, to reviewer, to today’s afternoon news editor, Bryan has been covering Apple for more than 13 years. In addition to contributing to the print versions of MacAddict and MacFormat, Bryan has also contributed to three books from Wiley’s For Dummies series covering the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. More recently, he co-authored Incredible iPad Apps for Dummies. You can also hear him in the Apple Context Machine podcast with Jeff Gamet.
Adam Christianson
Adam Christianson is host of the popular and top rated Maccast podcast. Beginning in 2004 and each week since Adam has continued to offer insights and tips for all Mac fans. Adam’s user to user approach and his ability to appeal to both beginning and advanced Mac users made The Maccast an Apple iTunes “Best Of” podcast for 2008 and 2009. Adam has spent years in the Mac community serving on the board of directors of several Mac Users Groups. The Maccast serves as his latest effort to grow and give back to the Mac community.
Jeff Gamet
Jeff Gamet is Managing Editor of The Mac Observer, contributing editor for Design Tools Monthly, and also co-hosts the Apple Context Machine and We Have Communicators podcasts. He is actively involved in the blogging and social media world. Jeff is the author of “The Designer’s Guide to Mac OS X,” and travels around the U.S. speaking on design and Apple-related topics, including popular events like Macworld Expo and the RSA Conference on technology security. Ted Landau
Ted Landau has been writing about Apple products since the 1980′s, starting as a contributing editor for MACazine and MacUser. He is currently a columnist for Macworld (Bugs & Fixes) and The Mac Observer (Ted Landau’s User Friendly View). He is a regular guest on podcasts, most notably MacNotables with Chuck Joiner. In 1996, Ted founded the MacFixIt website where he remained as editor for the next 6 years. Ted is the also the author of several troubleshooting books — from the #1 bestselling Sad Macs, Bombs and Other Disasters to Take Control of iPhone iOS.
Jean MacDonald
Jean MacDonald is the partner in charge of marketing, advertising and PR at Smile, which develops productivity software for Mac, iPhone and iPad, including TextExpander and PDFpen. She has been a speaker at Macworld Expo and Blogworld/New Media Expo, and likes sharing her expertise on marketing in the Apple ecosphere. She is especially interested in constructive uses of social media, which is why you can find her on Twitter, LinkedIn and now Google+.
Bert Monroy
Bert Monroy is considered one of the preeminent pioneers of digital art. He builds his hyper-realistic digital paintings as a traditional artist would, adding color and texture, except he uses Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as his media and a Wacom Cintiq as his canvas. Bert spent 20 years in the advertising industry and he has been a commercial illustrator for 30 years. Bert recently released The Making of Times Square, a three part series of instructional videos for Lynda.com. He co-authored the first book on Photoshop and he is the author of several other books, including Photoshop Studio with Bert Monroy: Digital Painting. Bert also writes a column called “From Bert’s Studio,” which appears in Photoshop User magazine. An accomplished and sought after teacher and lecturer, Bert has served on the faculties of the School of Visual Arts (New York), the Center for Creative Imaging (Maine), and California College of the Arts. He currently teaches at San Francisco State University. Bert was a monthly regular on TechTV for almost 4 years and he hosted PixelPerfect with Bert Monroy, a weekly Photoshop podcast for Revision3 Internet Television. Bert has been a guest on many other TV shows around the globe. He also teaches and consults with corporate clients, including Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios. His film credits include work for Industrial Light & Magic, Pacific Data Images, and R/GA. Bert has taught the Adobe Photoshop Creativity Seminar Tour for Kelby Training, and he is a popular speaker at many conferences worldwide. He is a member of the Photoshop World Dream Team and was inducted into the Photoshop Hall of Fame in 2004.
Tom Negrino
Tom Negrino is the author of more than 40 books, covering such diverse topics as Dreamweaver, JavaScript, Keynote, Microsoft Office, CSS, and more. He is a longtime contributor to Macworld and other magazines. He’s lived in Healdsburg with his wife and frequent collaborator, Dori Smith, since they fled the Los Angeles area in 1999. Tom and Dori have been NCMUG members for more than a decade.
Mary Norbury-Glaser
Mary Norbury-Glaser has spent over 20 years in higher education as a Director of IT. Her expertise includes providing client/server solutions for heterogeneous environments (making Apple, Microsoft, and Linux systems play nice together), Web development, tech writing/reviewing, and content editing for several book publishers. She is also a lo-fi photographer. She lives in Denver but has been a loyal supporter and member of NCMUG for many years.
Ronnie Roche
Ronnie has been an avid Mac user since 1990. She developed her love for Macs by attending and volunteering in Mac User Groups. While working on her degree(s) in Communications at SRJC and SSU she discovered an affinity for Macs and working with computers. Ronnie has a natural teaching ability and has built her consulting business by combing this ability with her passion and skills for all things Mac/Apple related. Now her company, Design Solutions-Technology Simplified, specializes in one to one and small group instruction and general consulting for everything related to Apple products . She also teaches seminars on Mac related computing and applications. Her motto is “I read the manual so you don’t have to.” Ronnie Roche is a Certified Member of the Apple Consultants Network. She is past President and current Vice President of the North Coast Mac Users Group.
Jason Snell
Jason Snell is VP and Editorial Director of Macworld. He’s covered Apple and the Mac for more than 15 years, since before Apple was doomed. He has covered all the major Apple stories and product releases of the past decade, including reviews of all iPhone and iPad releases.
Lesa Snider
Lesa Snider is an internationally acclaimed speaker and the author of Photoshop CS5: The Missing Manual and coauthor of iPhoto ’11: The Missing Manual. She writes a monthly column for Macworld, Photoshop User, and Photoshop Elements Techniques magazines. In addition, she’s a stock photographer and chief evangelist for iStockphoto.com, founder of the creative tutorial site GraphicReporter.com, and the Advanced Photoshop instructor for the acclaimed online graphic design school, Sessions.edu. Lesa has recorded many training videos including “From Photo to Graphic Art,” “Practical Photoshop Elements,” “Photoshop Elements for Photographers” (all at KelbyTraining.com), and “Graphic Secrets for Business Professionals” (Lynda.com). She teaches in the Denver/Boulder area for Mike’s Camera and hosts her own European River Cruise, “Digital Photography on the Danube”. She’s a long-time member of the Photoshop World dream team of instructors, and speaks at conferences such as Mac Computer Expo, Macworld Expo, Geek Girl Boot Camp, Santa Fe Workshops, and a slew of Mac User Groups (she’s a proud member of COMUG.com and NCMUG.org).
David Sparks
David is a trial attorney in Orange County, California, where he’s been eating other lawyers’ lunch for years using Apple Technologies. David is also the editor of MacSparky.com and the co-host of the popular Mac Power Users podcast (macpowerusers.com). David speaks and writes often about Apple technology. David is a frequent speaker at the Macworld Conference and Expo and a regular faculty member for the American Bar Association’s TechShow, the premier technology conference, held annually in Chicago where he speaks on the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and productivity. David recently released a book for Wiley Press called Mac at Work and is releasing a new book, “iPad at Work” in October 2011.
Derrick Story
Derrick Story is a professional photographer, writer, teacher, and photography evangelist for Lowepro. He’s authored several digital media books, including The Digital Photography Companion (O’Reilly Media, publisher). Derrick is a Senior Contributor for Macworld magazine where he writes a digital photography column, and he’s a regular presenter on the popular training site, lynda.com featuring titles on Aperture, iPhoto, Flickr, and photo technique. Online, Derrick has formed a virtual camera club called The Digital Story that’s open to all photography enthusiasts. The site features weekly podcasts, daily posts, training videos, and reader-submitted photos.
